“Urusei Yatsura ’87: One‑Shot Lamp” (うる星やつら ’87 夢の仕掛人、因幡くん登場!), Original Release Japanese Video Promotion Poster 1987, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA97
This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster printed in 1987 for the direct‑to‑video Urusei Yatsura OVA Urusei Yatsura ’87: One‑Shot Lamp (うる星やつら 夢の仕掛人、因幡くん登場!), released on VHS and LaserDisc by Kitty Film / Pony Canyon.
Film background
Based on Rumiko Takahashi’s hit manga, the OVA introduces Inaba, a timid rabbit‑eared worker from a “time factory” who controls doors leading to alternate futures. After a mix‑up, Inaba pulls hapless lecher Ataru Moroboshi and alien oni girl Lum into a surreal series of “what if” scenarios that test their relationship and riff on the series’ established cast. Released between theatrical features, the special is remembered fondly for its inventive gags and sweet, romantic focus on Lum and Ataru.
Poster design
The B2 layout captures the OVA’s manic energy. Lum dominates the right side in a pink bunny suit, unleashing bolts of cartoon lightning from a futuristic device as Ataru is blasted backwards through a black void filled with flying desks and doors. Across the bottom, a bright white band carries the giant red logo 「うる星やつら ’87」 with colourful stars scattered behind it. Blue copy announces the September 21 video and October 21 laser release dates, emphasising its status as an original video work. It’s a wonderfully loud, late‑’80s anime design tailor‑made for fans of the series.
