“Woodstock” (ウッドストック), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1970, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P14

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1970 for the first Japanese release of Woodstock, Michael Wadleigh’s legendary concert documentary capturing the 1969 festival—three days of peace, music, and love.

A defining cultural document of the late 1960s, Woodstock preserves not only iconic performances but also the atmosphere of the crowd itself—an epic snapshot of a generation at its peak. The Japanese copy on this poster leans into that scale and immediacy, emphasising the idea of “you are among the 400,000 people” (40万人のなかにあなたがいる), and positioning it as a once-in-a-lifetime “special event.”

Poster design
A beautifully modernist, photo-strip layout divided into four horizontal panels—peace / love / music / people—moving from quiet sunrise campsite scenes to intimate human moments, then to performance energy and finally the immense crowd panorama. The bold red Japanese title ウッドストック anchors the bottom alongside the classic blue guitar-bird emblem, making this a superb, highly displayable 1970s design piece—clean, documentary, and instantly iconic once framed.

It is over 55 years old!
