“Yakuza 5” (龍が如く5 夢、叶えし者), Original Japanese Video Game Promotional Poster 2012, Nagoya Version, SEGA / PlayStation 3, B2 Format (c. 51 × 73 cm) — T142

Sale price $250.00

This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster for Yakuza 5, originally titled Ryū ga Gotoku 5: Yume, Kanaeshi Mono. Produced for the game’s original 2012 PlayStation 3 campaign, this rare Nagoya version celebrates one of the five cities featured in SEGA’s acclaimed crime-drama series. This particular example was displayed in a store at the time, preserving a direct connection with the game’s original Japanese promotion.

Released in Japan on 6 December 2012, Yakuza 5 expands the series across Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Nagoya, intertwining the lives and ambitions of five playable protagonists. Kazuma Kiryu begins the story living under an assumed identity as a taxi driver in Fukuoka, while a developing conflict between criminal organisations draws the separate narratives together.

Nagoya is represented by the fictional entertainment district of Kin’eichō, where former professional baseball player Tatsuo Shinada becomes central to a story involving his ruined sporting career. The game’s detailed urban environments combine fictional locations with recognisable businesses, restaurants, and advertising, giving each city its own character.

Printed on one B2 sheet, the poster centres on a large portrait of Kazuma Kiryu, wearing his familiar grey suit and open burgundy shirt. He holds a cigarette near his face, with a narrow trail of smoke rising through the montage above. His stern expression and sharply lit features give the design the atmosphere of Japanese crime-film publicity.

Behind him, diagonal strips of film frames contain streetscapes, illuminated landmarks, restaurant fronts, billboards, and shop displays from the game. Black borders and oversized sprocket-hole graphics turn these scenes into a cinematic backdrop, with “RYU GA GOTOKU 5” repeated in gold along the upper strip.

Across the centre, a dark green band decorated with fine dragon linework carries the prominent regional designation:

「名古屋 NAGOYA」
“Nagoya.”

Visible signs include Sekai no Yamachan, JOYSOUND, and aucfan, reflecting the series’ distinctive use of real-world commercial branding within its virtual streets. The mixture of daytime shopfronts and illuminated night scenes emphasises the pleasure of exploring these densely detailed environments.

The lower section is anchored by the bold 龍が如く5 logo, its sweeping red numeral contrasting with the green background and Kiryu’s pale suit. Beneath it appears the Japanese subtitle:

「夢、叶えし者」
“Those Who Fulfil Their Dreams.”

The Ryū ga Gotoku Studio logo occupies the lower-left corner, with ©SEGA at the lower right. Together, the Nagoya designation, cinematic montage, and imposing Kiryu portrait make this a distinctive example for collectors of Yakuza / Like a Dragon, SEGA, PlayStation, and Japanese video game advertising.

Condition: Very Good+. An original store-displayed example with handling creases, surface scuffing, and edge wear. Small punctures and areas of surface loss are visible near the upper corners, with tape remnants at the lower corners and paper undulations visible on the reverse. The artwork remains strong and the lettering clear. Once framed, the poster will display very well.
