Original Japanese Steve McQueen Movie Posters
Steve McQueen (1930–1980), celebrated as the “King of Cool,” was one of the defining stars of twentieth-century cinema. Renowned for his understated screen presence, rebellious persona and commanding performances, McQueen became an enduring icon through films including The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), Bullitt (1968), The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), Le Mans (1971) and Papillon (1973).
This collection brings together an extensive selection of original Japanese Steve McQueen movie posters, spanning his most celebrated films and theatrical releases in Japan. Our holdings include rare first-release B2 posters, large-format B1 designs, exceptionally scarce STB Tatekan cinema posters and other unusual promotional formats. Japanese theatrical campaigns frequently employed distinctive illustrated artwork, dramatic portraiture and bold typography, producing designs that have become highly desirable among collectors.
Particular highlights include original Japanese posters for Bullitt, The Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven and Le Mans. Many surviving examples are now more than half a century old, with original first-release posters in excellent condition becoming increasingly difficult to acquire.
